Robley D. Laurent Jr.

Robley D. Laurent Jr. passed on April 8, 2009, at East Jefferson Hospital in Metairie at age 79. A native of Norco, he was an employee of Shell Oil for 40 years and retired as a Safety Coordinator and an Aviation Structural Mechanic with the U. S. Navy and received the National Defense Service Medal. He was of Catholic religion.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Margaret Duhe Laurent; three daughters, Ellen Laurent Mock and her husband, Ricky, Cindy Laurent Robert and her husband, Joey, Anne Laurent Miranda and her husband, Dino; six grandchildren, Michelle, Roger and Robley Oubre and his wife, Jamie, Christen and Brandon Miranda and Mary-Anne Mock; two step-grandchildren, Ashly Wielbelt and her husband, Chris, and Stacy Robert; one step-great-grandchild, Ava Claire Norman; two brothers, Lewis Laurent and his wife, Mary Ida, and Kermit Laurent and his wife, Debbie, and sister-in-law, Lorrie Laurent; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robley D. Laurent Sr. and Elvira Breaud Laurent; one daughter, Laurelle Theresa Laurent; one brother, Ewell J. Laurent; and father and mother-in-law, Eddie Sr. and Helen Duhe.

The family received friends on Monday, April 13, 2009, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco and Tuesday, April 14, 2009, from 8 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norco with Fr. Luce Vicknair Madere on Friday, April 10, 2009, at 2:58 a.m. Beloved wife of the late Joseph “Bully” Madere. Mother of Margaret Madere. Daughter of the late Achille and Marie Vicknair. Sister of Rita Duhe and the late Donald and Lawrence “Smokey” Vicknair and Elma Brady. Also survived by nieces, nephews and her cat Holly.

The family would like to thank her caregivers Dorothy and Yolanda Ernest for their love and support. Age 93. A native of Lions and a resident of LaPlace. Grace Montz St. Pierre, age 93 of Suwanee, Ga., formerly of Norco, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009. Funeral Services were be held Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at 2:30 p.m. at the H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. Entombment followed at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum in Destrehan.

Mrs. St. Pierre was preceded in death by Jean B. St. Pierre Sr., her husband of 59 years; her son, Michael Gerard St. Pierre, and her daughter, Grace Elodie Tassin. Mrs. St. Pierre is survived by: children, Jean B. Jr. “J.B.” and Gloria St. Pierre, Destrehan; Elizabeth “Beth” and Curtis Simon, Petal, Miss.; Franklin and Bonita St. Pierre, Gonzales; Carol and Larry Sowers, Lewisville, N.C.; Rose and Duncan Pearson, Suwanee, Ga.; Mary and Tony Binaco, Marietta, Ga.; and Marian St. Pierre, Laurel, Miss.; son-in-law, Randall Tassin; brothers, Guy Montz; Lester and Elsie Montz; 25 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

VICKNAIR

Paul “Phil” Leonce Vicknair Sr. departed this life peacefully at 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, at Ochsner Medical Center in Kenner. The beloved husband on Audrey “LuLu” Roussel for 58 years. The loving father of son, Terry Toe Vicknair and fiancé Karen Tramonte; daughters, Bernadette Lambert and husband Maurice, Darleen Maus and husband Pat, Justine Hymel and husband Moise, Aimee St. Pierre, Dora Amato and husband Craif, son Paul Vicknair Jr., siter Linda Roquest, brother Earl Vicknair, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents Leonce and Aimee Guidry Vicknair; brothers Lawrence, Albert, Clovis; sisters Rosemae Rome, Adlice Schexnayder, and Pearl Gaudet; son Baby Vickanair; grandson Dustin Maus; and great grandson Alex Louque.

Visitation was held Monday, April 13, 2009, from the St. Joseph Catholica Church in Paulina from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. from the chruch with Fr. Frank Uter officiating.

He was employed by Monsanto for 20 years and Kaiser Aluminum/LaRouche/CII for 15 years as an Instrumentation Technician/electrician. He served his country proudly as a Seaman with the United States Navy.

The family would to express their appreciation to the ICU physicians and staff of Ochsner Medical Center. A special thank you to Nancy Laiche at St. James Hospital.
