ANNABEL ‘NANNIE’ ZERINGUE

Annabel “Nannie” Marie Schexnayder Zeringue, a wife, stepmother and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at River Region Hospice in River Ridge. A native of Wallace and resident of Vacherie, she was 84 years old. “Nannie” spent her life as a devoted Catholic caring for others as a homemaker. She loved cooking, baking, and sewing and was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of Americas #1504. She is survived by three stepsons and spouses, Van J. Zeringue (Pam), Rene P. Zeringue, Jr. (Gail) and Donald A. Zeringue (Pam), one stepdaughter and spouse, Cheryl A. Webster (Mike), one brother, Roland G. Schexnayder, eight grandchildren, Rene III, Jarred, Brooke, Mathew and Alex Zeringue, Noelie Z. Calabro, Andre Abadie and Erica McCallister, and three great-grandchildren, Andre Cooper, Addison Calabro and Mathew Zeringue.

Preceded in death by her husband, Rene Pierre Zeringue Sr., parents, Henry Joseph Schexnayder and Wenceslas Marie Simon Schexnayder, six brothers, Henry Joseph, Norbert Francois, Felecian Philip, Laurent Antoine, Francis Joseph and Nelson Joseph Schexnayder, five sisters, Aline Marie Hymel, Louisa Marie Bourg, Noelie Marie Zeringue and Laura Marie and Stella Marie Schexnayder.

Visitation and services were held on Tuesday, March 24, at St. Philip Catholic Church in Vacherie. Interment followed in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred.
