Alvin J. “Brother” Pollet, a native and resident of Lutcher, died on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at Ochsner Hospital of Baton Rouge. He was 88 years old and a proud U.S. Army WWII veteran who served in the battle of Anzio. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ethel Millet Pollet of Lutcher, daughter and son-in-law, Linda and James Riviere of Gramercy, two step-granddaughters and spouses, Wendy and Michael Earon of Winder, Ga., and Michele and Brian Hymel of Kenner, four step great-grandchildren, Joshua and Matthew Earon and Michael and Andrew Hymel, one sister, Iris P. Lanson of Metairie, one brother, Shelton Pollet of New Orleans. Also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Amelus and Louise Arcenaux Pollet, three sisters, Pearl Hebert, Amelie Pollet and Marie Addison, and two brothers, Carl Pollet and Percy Pollet.

Services were held on Saturday, Dec. 27, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. Entombment in the church mausoleum.
