Queens of the Bonfires

The Festival of the Bonfires Committee presented the 19th annual Miss Festival of the Bonfires Pageant and 10th annual Teen Miss Festival of the Bonfires Pageant, at Lutcher High School.

Victoria Nassar of Lutcher was crowned Miss Festival of the Bonfires and Cherish Vicknair of Lutcher was crowned Teen Miss Festival of the Bonfires.

Nassar, the 20-year-old daughter of Renita Zeringue and Vernon Nassar, is a 2007 graduate of Lutcher High School and is a sophomore at Nicholls State University, where she is pursuing a degree in athletic training. Nassar also won the Miss Sparkler Award voted by her fellow contestants.

Other winners in the miss division were Nicole Simon, first runner up; Teralyn Louque, second runner up and people’s choice; and Denise Moran, photogenic and fashion award winners.

Vicknair, the 16-year-old daughter of Christine and Joey “Truck” Vicknair is a junior at Lutcher High School where she is on the Periquette Dance Team. She also won the fashion award.

Other winners in the teen division were Shelby Bourgeois, first runner up and People’s Choice; Elyse Garon, second runner up; Courtney Dornier, Photogenic Award; and Gabrielle Keller, Teen Miss Sparkler Award.

Victoria and Cherish will reign over the 19th annual Festival of the Bonfires held December 12, 13 and 14 at Lutcher Park.
