RESERVE — A Montz woman suffered fatal injuries Monday afternoon after the motorcycle she was riding collided with another vehicle that crossed into her path, according to a release from State Police.

The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Airline Highway and Central Avenue in Reserve.

According to Senior Trooper Joseph Piglia, the motorcyclist, Kelly A. Taylor, 33, was traveling southbound on Airline Highway in the left lane when a 2004 Dodge Neon, driven by Willie Mae Brignac, 72, of Reserve, turned into her path near the intersection.

Piglia said Brignac, traveling northbound in the Neon on Airline Highway, was attempting to make a left turn onto Central Avenue. He said as the Dodge made the turn and crossed the southbound lanes, it came into the path of Taylor’s 2003 Suzuki motorcycle.

According to the release, the motorcycle hit the Dodge’s passenger side. Upon impact, Taylor was ejected from her bike. Taylor was rushed to River Parishes Hospital in LaPlace where she was pronounced dead.

Piglia said it is not clear whether speed or driver impairment are factors in the crash. A toxicology examination is still pending. Charges are pending further investigation.
