Queen of Hearts

The River Parishes Fall Festival crowned, Amanda Sullivan, 19, of Norco, as their new 2008-2009 Miss Queen of Hearts.
She is a 2007 graduate of Destrehan High School and is presently a sophomore at the Southeastern Louisiana University where she is pursuing a degree in business.
Some of Sullivan’s awards and recognitions are emphasis diploma in art and government, outstanding art award, 2004 & 2006 special recognition award as St. Charles Parish Ambassador. Sullivan is a volunteer for the cystic fibrosis foundation; St. Charles Parish Relay for life team member and volunteer, animal rescue center volunteer. and Norco Booster Club Volunteer.
She is a TOPS recipient and has academic excellence. In her spare time, she enjoys drawing, designing and sewing, cake decorating, and living a heart healthy life. Sullivan is the daughter of Dawn Abbate of Norco and Gary Sullivan of New Orleans.
Brooke Stein, 15, of LaPlace was crowned the 2008-2009 Teen Queen of Hearts. She also won the fashion award and prettiest smile award. She is presently a sophomore at St. Charles Catholic High School. She is an honor roll student with a 3.8 GPA. She is a member of the Star Stepper Dance Team, Sophomore Class Vice-President, Beta Club, FCA Club, and French Club. She loves shopping, scrap booking, spending time with her family and friends.
She was awarded outstanding freshman student council member and is the recipient of a St. Charles Catholic High School Academic Scholarship. Her future plans are to attend Louisiana State University and become a forensic scientist. She is the daughter of Gregg and Celeste Stein of LaPlace.
Other winners in the Miss Division: Chelsey Hymel, 17, of Montz, was selected 1 st runner up, fashion and photogenic awards. She is the daughter of John and Shelly Hymel of Montz.
Lacyce Mizell, 17, of Destrehan, was selected 2nd runner up and won the prettiest hair award. She is the daughter of Permy Mizell of Destrehan.
Lacey Weber, 18, of Norco, was selected 3rd runner up and the prettiest eyes and smile awards. She is the daughter of Todd and Arin Weber of Norco.
Other winners in the Teen Division are: Victoria Pellerin, 16, of Montz, was selected 1st runner up. She is the daughter of Spellman and Donna Pellerin of Montz.
Jeanne Simar, 15, of Paulina, was selected 2nd runner up. She is the daughter of Kerri and James Simar of Paulina.
Paige St. Pierre, 16, of Norco, was selected 3rd runner up. She is the daughter of Todd St. Pierre of Garyville and Lisa St. Pierre of Norco.
Alexis Lachney, 13, of Norco, was selected 4th runner up. She is the daughter of Milton and Anna Lachney of Norco. Jenna Mire, 15, of Destrehan, won the prettiest eyes, hair, and photogenic awards. She is the daughter of Marian and Jay Mire of Destrehan.
As the reigning Miss and Teen Queen of Hearts, Sullivan and Stein will travel the state of Louisiana visiting various fairs and festivals. Sullivan will also represent the River Parishes Fall Festival at the 2009 Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals Convention and Queen of Queens pageant held in Baton Rouge in February 2009.
