Webster, Landry lead Lutcher past E.D. White, 29-0

Lutcher made quick work of former district foe E.D. White on Friday night, knocking the Cardinals off 29-0 in a Class 3A bi-district playoff game at the Dog Yard.

Lutcher, the No. 6 seed in the Class 3A tourney, is set to face No. 11 St. Louis on Friday night.

The Bulldogs (8-2) got two rushing touchdown from Gavin Webster, as well as a touchdown pass from the senior quarterback.

The Bulldogs ‘Dingos’ defense also came to play, allowing the Cardinals only 100 total yards and forcing four turnovers. The E.D. White (4-6) running game could only muster 1.5 yards a carry on 22 attempts.

Daniel Taylor ran 13 times for 83 yards and a touchdown. Webster was 18-of-27 for 194 yards. Many of those were to Jarvis Landry, who hauled in nine catches for 133 yards and a touchdown. Reginald Jackson added five receptions for 34 yards. Austin Roussel had eight tackles and an interception to lead the defense.

Webster put the first points of the game on the board when he took off on a 39-yard run to make it 6-0 with 3:39 left in the first quarter.

His next score came in the second quarter, this time from 4-yards away with 8:25 left in the first half. He added a two-point conversion throw to Brandon St. Pierre to make it 14-0.

Webster would find Landry from 29 yards away with 2:14 remaining before halftime, making it 20-0 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Marcus Millet recorded a safety with two minutes left. Millet also had eight tackles for Lutcher.

Taylor capped things off with a 15-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter with only 2:43 remaining.

Lutcher gained 366 yards of total offense, and dominated time of possession, holding the ball for 31:02.
