GARYVILLE – Marathon Petroleum Company LLC and the St. John Parish Government held an event day at Ezekiel Jackson Park recently for local citizens to participate in activities and enjoy a great afternoon at the park.

People in attendance enjoyed jambalaya, popcorn, cotton candy, crafts and free gifts. Other activities included a clown, spacewalks, a demonstration by the St. John Parish Canine Unit, free throw competition and a punt, pass and kick contest.

Since 2001, Marathon Petroleum Company and the St. John Parish Government have worked together to make significant improvements to Ezekiel Jackson Park. Some of the improvements included the fencing of additional property purchased by the parish adjacent to park, fence repair, painting and repair of the park concession stand, new playground equipment, a lighted walking/jogging track and a pavilion.
