LAPLACE — A man armed with a gun made off with cash from a local restaurant during a robbery recently said a spokesman for the St. John Sheriff’s Office.
Maj. Mike Tregre, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office, said an employee at Bull’s Corner Restaurant, 1036 W. Airline Hwy., LaPlace, told investigators that a black male wearing a dark hooded jacket with a mask over his face approached the bar area of the restaurant just after 9 p.m.
The employee, who was unharmed during the incident, said the suspect pointed a handgun at her and demanded that she “give him all her money.” She then opened the register and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect. The suspect took the money and fled the restaurant on foot in an unknown direction.
Tregre said that the incident could be related to similar armed robberies of other businesses in the area. He said investigators are looking into the possibility that the same suspect perpetrated the other robberies.
Anyone with any information on the incident is asked to contact the St. John Sheriff’s Office at 985-652-6338.
