LAPLACE  —  Mothers of Pre-Schoolers (MOPS) of LaPlace will be hosting an Open House this Thursday, September 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church of LaPlace, 120 Ormond Boulevard.

Mothers of children from birth through kindergarten are invited to attend to learn how MOPS can help them to become better moms.  Although mothering preschoolers is at times a lonely challenge, MOPS is providing a welcome break for moms; a chance for moms to make new friends and an opportunity for moms to know they are not alone in the struggles and joys of raising young children.

Sarah Welch, coordinator for the LaPlace MOPS group stresses, “We want moms to know that we are here to help them because, as moms ourselves, we understand the unique needs, challenges and joys of early mothering.”

For over 35 years, nationally MOPS has been creating authentic communities where moms gather to experience encouragement, support and hope.

Meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church of LaPlace.  Monthly meetings consist of dinner, guest speakers, creative activities, and discussion/small group time.
