Hahnville’s James among Louisiana athletes ready for Jones County season

LOUISIANA ATHLETES PLAYING FOR JONES COUNTY JUNIOR COLLEGE – Three Louisiana athletes are members of this year’s Jones County Junior College football team in Ellisville, Miss. Pictured, from left, are quarterback Early James of Hahnville High School,

running back Daniel Borne of Archbishop Shaw High School and defensive end Tyrunn Walker of Westgate High School. James started as a freshman at JCJC and led the Bobcats to a 9-2 record and a No. 5 national ranking in the final NJCAA/JCfootball.com poll. He was named the Most Valuable Back in the MACJC South Division. James is from Killona, Borne is from Avondale and Walker is from New Iberia. The Bobcats, ranked No. 7 in the NJCAA/JCfootball.com preseason poll, open the season at home at 7 p.m. on Aug. 28 against No. 20 Itawamba Community College.
