Jindal names Port of South Louisiana members

BATON ROUGE — Governor Bobby Jindal announced appointments to the Port of South Louisiana Commission.
According to statute, the commission is comprised of seven members that serve a term concurrent to that of the governor. One member is appointed by the parish president from each parish within the territorial jurisdiction of the port and must be confirmed by two-thirds of the members of the respective parish council.
Appointments to the Port of South Louisiana Commission:
Louis A. Joseph, of Edgard, is a data analyst for Union Carbide Corporation, a subsidiary of the Dow Chemical Company. Joseph is a member of the River Parishes Community College Foundation Board. Joseph was nominated by the AFL-CIO and will represent St. John Parish, as required by statute.
Gregory J. Gravois, of Vacherie, is the owner, president and manager of Gen-Con, Inc, a general contracting firm in St. James Parish. Gravois is a licensed contractor and master plumber. Gravois was nominated by the AFL-CIO and will represent St. James Parish, as required by statute.
Robert “Poncho” Roussel, of Paulina, is a retired operations manager at Marathon Oil Company and will represent St. James Parish.
