Robicheaux named new St. Charles chief civil deputy

Sheriff Champagne announced the promotion of Maisy Robicheaux as the new Chief Civil Deputy for the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. Chief Robicheaux has been employed with the Sheriff Office since 1982.

“Having worked in various capacities throughout her time with the sheriff’s office, Chief Robicheaux has extensive experience in my finance division. She has effectively demonstrated the skills needed to oversee our Civil Department operations,” said Champagne.

Chief Robicheaux will oversee the departments Civil Process Division, Bonds and Fines Division, Finance Division, and Tax and License Division, according to Champagne.

As Chief Civil Deputy, Robicheaux is responsible for managing the Sheriff’s Office finances, payroll, sheriff’s sales, tax collections, tax sales, and bonds and fines collections. In addition, her staff is responsible for issuing occupational licenses, service of civil subpoenas, eviction and seizures.

“I appreciate the opportunity provided by Sheriff Champagne and look forward to serving the residents of St. Charles Parish, said Robicheaux.

In addition to Chief Robicheaux‘s promotion, Claudette Magee was promoted to Supervisor of Tax and License Division and Karen Cailliet was promoted to Assistant Supervisor.
