Boudoin

Ruby Borne Boudoin entered in eternal rest in the presence of her family on Friday, July 18, 2008, at her daughter’s home in Waggaman. Beloved and devoted wife of Robert Boudoin Jr. Daughter of the late Albert and Ethel (Toe-Toe) Borne Sr. Mother of Paul “P.J.” (Kathleen) Boudoin Sr. of Gramercy, Valerie Barre of Waggaman, La., Jeanenne (Karl) Grows Sr. of Edgard, Kenneth Boudoin of Hahnville, Jonathan (Pamela) Boudoin of Newnan, Ga., Ethel (Kermit) Duhe Jr. of Garyville, Yvette (Moses) Chest III of Lawrenceville, Ga., and the late Noreen B. Dregory’. Sister of Clara (TO-LU) Thompson, Elizabeth (Patsy) Lawson, Daniel, Dennis and Landry Borne, Sally Becnel, Belinda Nevers and the late Donald Borne Sr. and Albert Borne Jr. Daughter-in-law of the late Robert and Marie Boudoin. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age 68 years. A native and resident of Edgard.

Visitation and services were at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgard on Thursday July 24. Interment St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery.

Bourgeois

Monique Marie Oubre Bourgeois, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died on Saturday, July 19, 2008, in Kenner at the age of 93. Born on September 13, 1914, in Vacherie, La., and resident of New Orleans for many years. Beloved wife of the late Rene Joseph Bourgeois Sr. Loving mother of Betty Ann Bourgeois Doiron and husband Eugene of Metairie; Malvin Anthony Bourgeois of Austin, Tex., Rene Joseph Bourgeois Jr. and wife Mary of Metairie and Robert Anthony Bourgeois and wife Barbara of Slidell. Also survived by adoring grandchildren, Denise Doiron Becklehimer of Kenner, Linda Doiron Steltz of Metairie, Eugene “Bubba” Doiron III of Slidell, Shari Doiron Mader of Kenner, Wanda Doiron Blanchard of LaPlace, Monique Rene Doiron of Metairie, Kari Bourgeois of Austin, Tex., Rene Bourgeois III of Kenner, Darren Bourgeois of Metairie, Tracy Bourgeois Roberts of Walker, La., Scott Bourgeois of Atlanta, Ga., and Travis Bourgeois of Baton Rouge. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren, her step-sister Noela Oubre and step-brother George Oubre.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fabien Oubre and Noemie Klibert Oubre, brothers, Honore’ Oubre, Moise Oubre and Walter Oubre, sister Leah Oubre and step-sister Martha Oubre.

Visitaton and services were held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 23. Interment followed in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.

Cummings

Oscar “Dupie” Cummings Sr. on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at River Region Hospice, River Ridge, La. Son of Charity Hayes Cummings and the late Adolph Cavalier. Beloved husband of Estella Irvine Cummings. Father of Mary Cummings, Shervone Bickham, Oscar Cummings Jr., Cheryl Bolian and Brenda Walton and the late Calvin Cummings. Brother of Joyce Cummings, Dorothy Tobias, Emma Bethea, Josie Morris, Herman and Lionel Cummings and the Glory C. Sulton. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age 74 years.

A native of St. Francisville, La., and a resident of St. Rose.

Visitation and services were held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in St. Rose on Friday July 25. Rev. Isiah Franklin, Pastor, Officiating. Interment Jefferson Memorial Garden Cemetery in St. Rose.

Duhe

Cecilia B. Duhe homemaker on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 10:35 a.m. at Ormond Nursing and Care Center at age 95. A native of Thibodaux, La., lived in Norco for 70 years.

Visitation and services were held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norco. Interment in St. Peters Cemetery in Reserve. Clergy Fr. Terry Hayden.

Survived by her daughters: Sister Naoma Duhe, MSC of New Orleans, Nee Mollie Duhe; Helen Duhe Ayme of Norco. Grandchildren: Grant, Emric, Tyler, Nathan and Mahlon Ayme; Mollie Chapman and Thecla Markle and 11 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her grandson, Jason Ayme; Husband, Samuel J. Duhe.

Gregoire

Charles Anthony Gregoire “Charley” departed this earthly home to enter his heavenly home on Saturday, July 19, 2008. Son of the late Kalsaw and Gertie Himes. Beloved and devoted husband of Allene Meekins Gregoire. Loving and dedicated father of Darryl C. Gregoire of Reserve and Crystal G. King of Baton Rouge. Brother of Oneda Joseph, Geneva Stemley, both of LaPlace, the late Nelson and Joseph Gregoire and Vera Bell. Also survived by two grandchildren, Da Ronne Davis of Los Angeles and Shelby Taylor King of Baton Rouge and one great grandchild, Layla Davis of Los Angeles. Brother-in-Law of Charles Stemley Sr. and Audrey Gregoire, both of LaPlace, Bobbie Mc Lenmore of Detroit, Nellie Sheilds of Flint, Mich., Acie and Gladys Meekins of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Martha Meekins of Euclid, Ohio, and the late Clinton Joseph, Willie Bell and Victoria Gregoire. Godfather of Pamela Joseph of Marrero, La., Erica Nicholas Cola of Gramercy, D’Artaganan Forest of Houston and Aaron Gray of Baton Rouge. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A native of St. James and a resident of LaPlace and Reserve for many years. Gregoire was a Veteran of the U. S. Army.

Visitation and services were held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Reserve on Thursday, July 24. Father Joseph Rodney, S.S.J., Pastor – Celebrant. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery Reserve.
