Scharwath

Mary Peco Scharwath, mother of Vicki Lynn Scharwath Lester and the late Peter John Scharwath, spouse of Roy J. Scharwath, Grandmother of Garett Taylor and Marcie Lester. Preceded in death by her brother, Marion (Mickey) Peco, and her parents, Peter and Mary L. Peco. Visitation and mass of Christian burial was held June 24, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina, La. Interment in the church cemetery.

Kimier

Minnie Kimier, 77, died June 22, 2008. The LaPlace resident is the wife of the late Donald Kimier; mother of Mary Jane Giglio and Myrtle Simoneaux; grandmother of Paul Simoneaux Jr.; great grandmother of Casey and Callie Simoneaux. She is the sister of Mildred Hoffpauir, and Ginger Maher. Visitation and religious services were held Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, La. Burial in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery, LaPlace, La.

Belvin

Gary Belvin died June 23, 2008. The St. John resident is the son of Ruby W. Belvin, and the late August Belvin. He is the father of Blake, Rafeal, Malik, and Aireyel Belvin; Rashawng and Jamal Davis; and Ja’hon Jones; brother of Gaynell James and Trena Clayton. He is also survived by a nephew, Anthony Belvin.

Visitation and funeral services were held Friday, June 27, 2008, at New Wine Christian Fellowship Church, LaPlace, La. Interment in Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions, La.

Edwards

Sandra Oubre Edwards, 61, died June 24, 2008. The Edgard resident  was wife of Allen A. Edwards, daughter of the late Snell and Leonise Dumas Oubre, mother of Sernell M.E. Johnson and Anjanette M.E. Baham, grandmothr of the late Adrienne, Makayla, Kori, Serena, Keno, Di’andra and the late Kameron and sister of Judy O. Fiffie, Melba O. Collins, Marvelyn O. Wesley, Flora O., Elray P. and Gerard S. Oubre.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2361 Hwy. 18, Edgard. Visitation at the church after 9 a.m. Recitation of the rosary at 10 a.m. Entombment in the church mausoleum.
