The Advanced TV Broadcasting Course at the Satellite Center has been named an Avid Mentor School. As of April, only four high school programs have been chosen in the United States. Nearly one hundred colleges and universities from around the world have been recognized as Avid Mentor Schools.
Avid is the world leader in digital media creation tools for film, video, audio, animation and games. The Advanced TV Broadcasting course at the Satellite Center currently uses Avid’s Xpress Pro HD and Media Composer video editing software and Avid’s Pro-Tools audio recording and editing software. Both of these programs are “the industry standard” in the film, video and recording industries.
The benefit to the team members at the Satellite Center are the specialized curriculum provided by Avid, discounts on software and the chance to become and “Avid Certified User.” The ACU program establishes a professional standard for Avid editing system proficiency in the post-production industry. The ACU program will be offered beginning in the Fall of 2008.
