The Greens 55+ Active Adult Community located within Pelican Point Golf Community in Gonzales, was picked as one of two developments in Louisiana to tour during the Building for Boomers & Beyond: 50+ Housing Symposium.
This is the premier educational networking event for industry professionals who serve the growing 50+ market. Over 100+ builders and developers from across the nation striving to meet the housing needs of boomers, empty nesters, active adults, retirees and older seniors will attend this event.
The Greens was chosen because it is a prime example of the new trend for Active Adult Communities, which are smaller developments located within or connected to Multi-generational Communities. The Greens at Pelican Point, developed by Gonzales native Douglas Diez, was nationally recognized in April 2003 as the Best Active Adult Community by “Big Builder Magazine,” ranking 1st among Active Adult Communities of 500 units or less and is the only age qualified 55 + Lifestyle Community in the area. His vision of The Greens community was to draw those looking for low maintenance designed homes with interior amenities that emphasize a lifestyle of ease and efficiency, along with access to amenities of the larger community such as golf courses, activity centers, swimming pools, weekly events and excursions and community shopping. The symposium attendees will view three different homes in The Greens, and the New Greens’ Clubhouse. A panel discussion with the developers/builders team will also be held.
