DESTREHAN – Dow’s St. Charles Operations facility recently donated a $3,000 Community Grant to the St. Charles Parish Council’s Beautification Task Force.

The goal of the Beautification Task Force is to beautify the parish while enhancing natural and man made resources through community projects, preservation and restoration efforts, conservation of green space and promotion of public art.

The Dow grant money funded the “Maintenance and Enhancement of Public Parks and Spaces” project. This project helps preserve and maintain existing shrubs and trees for parish parks and green spaces.

“We appreciated Dow’s support for our efforts,” said Glenda Clement, Beautification Task Force representative. “It feels good to know that people visit our parks and recognize their beauty. We want to do our best preserve that.”

The Beautification Task Force’s “Maintenance and Enhancement of Public Parks and Spaces” began several years ago to balance the green spaces and industrialized spaces in St. Charles Parish. The project also encourages careful stewardship of the natural environment.
