Borne

Albert Ignace Borne, 84, died May 10, 2008. The Wallace native and Gramercy resident was the husband of Gertrude Roussel Borne, father of Terry Borne, and Jody Borne, brother of Maurice Borne, and grandfather of Troy, Kyle, Lindsey and Wesley Borne.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Octave Borne and Rosa Schexnayder Borne, brothers, Nemour, Noe, Norman, and Nolan Borne, and sisters, Celima Millet, Noemie Berhtelot and Norma Hymel. Visitation was held Tuesday, May 13, at Rose Lynn Funeral Services in Lutcher, La.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gramercy, La., following visitation. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Paulina, La.

Perret

Thelma Frickey Perret, 83, died May 5, 2008. The Bayou Gauche native and Westwego resident was wife of Daniel J. Perret, mother of Brandt Perret and Faye P. Stage, daughter of the late Evans Frickey Sr. and Odette Picou Frickey, sister of the late Lerrie, Amos and Evans Frickey Jr. and grandmother of Melissa Perret, Christina Walls, Summer Freeman, Sarah Reese, Samantha Stage and Stephanie Stage.

Visitation and services were held Wednesday, May 7, at Life Fellowship Community Church in Bayou Gauche. Interment Sunset Cemetery in Bayou Gauche.

Johnson

Arthur “Meat” Johnson, 47, died April 29, 2008. The LaPlace resident is preceded in death by his mother, Cora Land Gibson; 2 sisters, Doris and Bobby Ann Johnson; and 4 brothers, James Gibson, Leroy Johnson, Charles Mack and Jessie Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Denise Johnson; 4 daughters, Tanisha Robinson, Rheannon Brown, Stephanie Brown and Kenyatta B. Blount; and father, Earl Johnson. Visitation was held Friday, May 9 at the Betty Ann Sanders Memorial Chapel of Professional Funeral Services in LaPlace. Funeral Sevices were held Saturday, May 10 at Greater Hinds St Baptist Church in Greenville, Miss. Interment at Silver Mount Baptist Church Cemetery in Scott, MS.

Ockman

Ethel Richard Ockman, 95, died May 9, 2008. The LaPlace native and Reserve resident was the wife of the late Olide Ockman, daughter of the late Peter and Leonie Richard, sister of Charles Richard, the late Peter Jr. and James Richard, Evelyn Simon and Elma Jarreau.

Visitation and funeral services were held Monday, May 12, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, La. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve, LA.

Stokes

Tai’ja Ijanae’ Stokes, 19, died May 4, 2008. The LaPlace resident was the daughter of Dorothy Lee Stokes and William Butler, sister of Sabrina and Grayland Ceaser, Jr., Terry Stokes, Tion Butler and Josh Lee Wilson, niece of Also Deborah King, Katherine Singleton, Vanessa Bowers, Joyce Washington, and Walter Washington, Sr. Visitation and funeral services were held Saturday, May 10, at Rising Star Baptist Church, LaPlace, La. Interment in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery. LaPlace, La.

Aucoin

Van Louis Aucoin, 67, died May 9, 2008. The Vacherie native and Destrehan resident was preceded in death by his parents, Felix L. Aucoin, Jr. and Winnie Waguespack Aucoin, his grandparents, Felix L. Aucoin, Sr., Jeanne Cusso Aucoin, Stephen Burch, Eva Waguespack Burch, Henry Joseph Waguespack and Antoinette Graugnard Waguespack and Henry Joseph Waguespack, and his brother Kenneth J. Aucoin.

 He was the husband of Heidemarie Anni Werner, father of Nicole Jeanne Aucoin and Tanja Aucoin Baxter, grandfather of Thomas Warren Baxter, Brandon Louis Baxter, Michael Britt Baxter, and Kristen Elizabeth Baxter, brother of Edsel J. Aucoin, Paul G. Aucoin, Leonard H. Aucoin, Ralph J. Aucoin, and Jeanne Aucoin Hobson. Visitation and funeral services were held Tuesday, May 13, at St. Philip Church in Vacherie, La.
