LAPLACE – Whitney National Bank has opened its first branch in St. John the Baptist Parish. A Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony took place Wednesday, May 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. As the Whitney approaches its 125th anniversary, bank officials say this expansion into St. John Parish is a symbol of strength for both the bank and the market.

“The City of LaPlace is at the center of much of the development that we see occurring in St. John Parish,” says Joseph Exnicios, Executive Vice President of Whitney Bank. “Our new Laplace Branch signifies our commitment to the community and our efforts to extend an even higher level of service to our new and existing customers.”

Whitney Bank’s LaPlace Branch Manager Dominic Arcuri has more than 30 years of banking and lending experience. “He is well established and respected within the LaPlace community,” said Whitney’s Senior Vice President, David Andignac, “his leadership and experience will support the Bank’s new business development efforts as the Whitney establishes our foothold in this great LaPlace community.”

Kathleen Sammons, a 32-year Whitney Bank employee, joins the LaPlace team as Branch Operations Manager. “Her many years of experience in Whitney’s corporate structure will complement our business banking efforts within the local community.” Andignac added, “The entire staff at the LaPlace Branch boasts an impressive 130 years of banking experience, and they all look forward to serving the needs of the St John Parish community.”
