Crump

Bobby Troy Crump, 72, died May 6, 2008. The Pelican native and LaPlace resident was husband of Libbye Crump, father of Troyetta and husband Wayne Marr, Elizabeth and husband Wess Winn, Micah and husband Johnny Zinna and the late Ronald A. Crump, stepfather of Karen Hanson, Connie Chachere, Judy Pennington, John Sonnier Jr. and Scott Sonnier, son of the late Troy and Grace Crump and brother of the late LaVerna Trehan and Pat Crump.

He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Services were held Friday, May 9, at Beulah Methodist Church in Ajax, La. Burial in Beulah Cemetery.

Kinney

Rufena B. Kinney, 98, died May 4, 2008. The Monmouth, Ill., native and resident of LaPlace was wife of the late James W. Kinney, mother of Jerry and Jonny Kinney, mother-in-law of Susan Vicknair Kinney, grandmother of Logan, James and Patrick Kinney and sister of the late Georgina Linguist.

Burial took place on Thursday, May 8, at Mountain Home Cemetery in Mountain Home, Ark.

Monica

Audrey Falgoust Monica, 82, died May 7, 2008. The Garyville resident was wife of the late Joseph Monica, mother of Joey and wife Rosie Monica, Ronald and wife Christine Monica, Audrey and husband Carl Schutz, Ann and husband Herbert Hymel, Filippa and husband Gary Boe, Bernice and husband Richard Foret, Angie and husband R.J. Hales and State Rep. Nickie and wife Dawn Monica. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Armant and Bernice Falgoust and the sister of Lotsy Haydel, Frances Roccaforte, Shirley Mae Miano, Beryl Lebouef and the late Marcel and Pete Falgoust.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Hubert Catholic Church in Garyville followed by religious services at the church at 11 a.m. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.

Torres

Lester J. Torres, 77, died May 7, 2008. The native and resident of Norco is survived by wife Frances Tregre Torres, son Keith Torres, daughters Cheryl Torres Braud and Janice Torres Scarbrough, siblings Ruth Torres aslauer, Robert “Bobby” Torres, Elizabeth “Betty” Torres Schexnayder, grandchildren Nicole Torres Brown, Blake Torres, Joshua Braud, Matthew Braud and Jeremy Braud and great-grandchildren Ellie and Preston Brown.

Preceded in death by parents Prudent and Terese Rome Torres and sister Terese Torres.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, May 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Curch in Norco. Interment at St. Peters Mausoleum in Reserve.

Triche

Lena Rodrigue Triche entered eternal rest on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at 11:15 a.m. at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence M. Triche. Preceded in death by her parents Rene and Alanda Rodrigue and her beloved son Melvin Triche. Beloved mother of Dorrel J. Triche, Sr., and his wife Mary Lambert Triche and her daughter-in-law Helen Weber Triche. Beloved sister of Earl Rodrigue of Destrehan, La., and the late Curtis, Tennyson, and Herbert Rodrigue. Grandmother of Cindy Ware, Kevin, Keith, Dorrel Jr., Michael, Gregg and Douglas Triche. Great grandmother of Shaunelle, Kevin Jr., Courtney, Alanda, Derek, Leslie, Cedric, Jay, Ben, Grace, Jeremy T., Jared, Angie, Amy, Nicole, Brian, Jacob, Jeremy V., Nathan and Jaime. Great-great grandmother of Jade, Samantha, Brayden and Josh. Special mother to Gale, Charlene and Cherie. Lena was a native of Chackbay, La. and lifelong resident of LaPlace, La., and active senior member of the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Daughters.

Visitation and services were held Tuesday, May 6, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in LaPlace. Interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Reserve, La., immediately following church services.
