Carter

Wilhelmina L. “Mena” Carter, 90, died April 26, 2008. The Mobile, Ala., native and Norco and Destrehan resident was daughter of the late John Stephens and Claudine P. Sheperd, wife of the late William A. Carter, mother of Florence Hamm, Chrystal Carter-Allen and the late William M. Carter, sister of Katherine Thompson, the late John Stevenson and Joseph Sheperd, grandmother of Troy and Stephen Hamm, Chantel Banks, Wendy Smith, Ivy, Lindsay and Marcus Carter and Billi Allen and mother-in-law of Bridget Carter and Mallory Allen.

Visitation and services were held on Thursday, May 1, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Norco. Interment in St. Peter Cemetery.

Falgoust

Ray “Bezoo” Joseph Falgoust, 77, died April 28, 2008. The Vacherie native and resident is survived by wife Lucy Mae Becnel Falgoust, parent Inez Dempster Falgoust, sons Albert P. Falgoust, Bernard Falgoust, Rickie A. Falgoust and Jesse R. Falgoust, daughter Lydia F. Ledet, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents Rupert and Nanette Becnel, brother Guy J. Falgoust and sister Bertha F. Cortez.

Visitation and services were held Wednesday, April 30, at Our Lady of Peace in Vacherie. Interment followed at Our Lady of Peace.

Weinert

Eugene “Mr. Gene” Weinert Sr., 77, died April 25, 2008. The Michigan native and LaPlace resident was the husband of the late Ursula Weinert, father of Allen, Eugene Jr., Norbert, and Jurgen Weinert, Ramona Daigle, Karol Eastman, and Ursula Parquet, brother of Carolyn Alderman. Mr. Weinert was a retired U.S. Army veteran, who served in Korea and Vietnam. Visitation was held Tuesday, April 29 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, with a religious service following in the funeral home chapel. Burial in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery, LaPlace, La.

Edler

Lionel “Pickle” Edler Jr., 75, died April 29, 2008. The LaPlace native was the husband of the late Josephine Milioto Edler, father of Marlene Duhe, Rory and Scott Edler, and the late Angela McGuire, grandfather of Staci and Troy Duhe, James McGuire, and Jeanne, Amber, Cortny, Scott and Nicole Edler, great grandfather of Austin and Ashton Simon, Dominick George, and Hunter and Ella Champagne, Brother of Brenda Terrio and Carol Montz. Special thanks to Ethelene Hampton for care and concern. Visitation was held Friday, May 2 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, with a religious service following in the funeral home chapel. Burial in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery, LaPlace, La.
