HAHNVILLE – A Destrehan man, a St. Rose teenager, and a group of five juveniles were arrested in connection with the simple burglary of a Destrehan residence, said a spokesman for the St. Charles Sheriff’s office.

Sgt. Dwayne LaGrange, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office, said the band of burglars made off with various items, with a combined total value of $3,790, from a home in Destrehan. LaGrange said the address of the home remains classified in order to protect the victims involved.

LaGrange said warrants were issued for Michael Williams, 22, 85 Carriage Lane, Destrehan, and Charles Cubas, 17, 306 Lorraine Dr., St. Rose. The two men were booked with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, and transported to the Nelson Coleman Correctional Facility. A representative from the jail said both men were released on bond, which was set at $30,000 for both individuals.

Also involved in the burglary were a 15-year-old Metairie boy, two 16-year-old Destrehan boys, and two 14-year-old Destrehan boys. LaGrange said the names were withheld because the boys are minors.

LaGrange said the incident occurred around 11 p.m. on April 11. He did not disclose exactly what was stolen, but described the items as assorted small electronics. He said the juveniles were sent to the St. James Juvenile Detention Facility, and later released to their parents.
