Aupied

Warren Stephen Aupied, 56, died April 19, 2008. The New Orleans native and LaPlace resident was husband of Donna Zeairs Aupied, father of Edgar Paul Aupied, son of the late Edgar Joseph Aupied Jr. and Mathilda Duker Aupied, brother of Craig Aupied, Rodney “Pee Wee” Aupied, Jackie Aupied Johnson, Pamela Aupied Chugden and the late Micael Aupied.

Visitation and services were held Friday, April 25, at Lamana-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home in Metairie.

Gross

Dorothy Singleton Gross, 73, died April 17, 2008. The Killona native and Hahnville resident was daughter of the late Ben Sr. and Opehelia Singleton, wife of the late Richard B. Gross, mother of Regina Bradley, Arlene D. and Lisa A. Gross and the late Paulette M. Gross, sister of Ben Singleton Jr., the late Wilson Singleton, Ethel M. Washington and O’Neal Singleton, grandmother of Derrick B. and Derrel A. Bradley and sister-in-law of Stephen D. Gross Sr. and Harold Gross.

Visitation and services were held on Wednesday, April 23, at True Vine Baptist Church in Hahnville followed by interment at Bethlehem Cemetery.

Henderson

Kentell “P.J.” Henderson, 30, died April 15, 2008. Survived by mother Oradell Henderson, father Andrew Henderson, brothers Tyrone and Edwin Raymond, sister Nytoga Henderson and grandfather Joseph Curley as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Preceded in death by grandmothers Willie Mae Raymond and Rose Henderson and step-grandmother Rose Curley.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 26, 9 a.m., at New Home Ministries in LaPlace followed by services at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Melancon

Louis “Big Lou” Melancon Sr., 61, died April 17, 2008. The Convent native and Natchitoches resident was son of the late Joseph and Lucy B. Melancon, husband of Mary Pearl Melancon, father of Sheniece and Louis Melancon Jr. and Valerie Mitchell and the late Dexter L. Melancon, brother of Joseph, Roland, Charles, Gregory and Arnold Melancon, nephew of Ollie M. Goodwin and Evangeline M. Ishem and Isabella and Ceola Hayes and Godson of Lillian J. Scott.

Services were held Friday, April 25, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Convent. Interment in the church cemetery.

Sorapuru

Leroy David Sorapuru, 73, died April 21, 2008. Survived by wife Rosemary Dinvaut Sorapuru, daughter Monique S. Cook, son Fabian S. Sorapuru, grandchildren Kelli Cook-Morrell, Laure Cook, Tyrania, Feagin, Breion, Dustin and Kiya Sorapuru and Landis Wilson, great-grandchild Paris Isom, siblings Larry Sorapuru Sr., Bertha Sorapuru, Olga Boudoin, Theresa Adam and Audrey Gauthier and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives..

Preceded in death by siblings Thelma S. Barre, Stanley Sorapuru and Wilbert Sorapuru Jr.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 26, at 9 a.m. at St. john the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgard followed by mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Interment in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.

Tassin

Grace Elodie “Dee” Tassin, 70, died April 21, 2008. The New Sarpy native and LaPlace resident is survived by husband Randall A. Tassin Sr., mother Grace Myrtle Montz St. Pierre, brothers Jean Baptiste “J.B.” St. Pierre Jr. and Franklin Joseph St. Pierre, sisters Elizabeth St. Pierre Simon, Carol St. Pierre Sowers, Rose St. Pierre Pearson, Mary St. Pierre Binaco and marian St. Pierre, children Randall A. Tassin Jr., Keith Charles Tassin, Dale Joseph Tassin, Glen Patrick Tassin and Patrice Marie Tassin LeBoeuf and grandchildren Abbe Elizabeth Tassin, Sarah Anne Tassin, Jessie Lynn LeBoeuf, Hartlea Marie Walker, Bryant joseph Tassin and Halley Marie Tassin.

Preceded in death by father Jean Baptiste St. Pierre Sr. and brother Michael St. Pierre.

Visitation and services were held Friday, April 25, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan.
