Melancon

Eva Lois Charles Melancon, 64, died April 12, 2008. The St. james native and Vacherie resident is survived by husband Raymond Melancon Sr., children Raymond Jr., Telonios, Ariane and kody Melancon, siblings Yvonne Smith, Ford Charles, Robert Charles, Judith Jones, Jeanette Nelson, Denise Gauthreaux, Lester Charles and David Charles, grandchildren Bria, Briale, Kaleigh, Kaleb and Tori melancon, nephew Rickey Nelson Jr. and numerous other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by brother Calvin Charles and parents Ford Sr. and Luvera Williams Charles.

Visitation and services were held Thursday, April 17, at St. james Catholic Church followed by interment at St. Luke Cemetery in St. James.

Orgeron

Kenneth Ray “Bazeek” Orgeron died April 15, 2008. The native and resident of Des Allemands was husband of Katherine Cortez Orgeron, father of Brady Orgeron Sr., Pamela Candies, Tessa Dupre and Bridget Leblanc, son of the late Emile Orgeron Jr. and Vernice M. Orgeron, brother of Robert “Bobby” Orgeron, Ellen Bonvillain, Catherine Naquin, Debra Frickey and the late Allen Orgeron Sr. and Gail Dempster. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.

Visitation and services were held Friday, April 18, at St. Geertrude Catholic Church in Des Allemands.

Tassin

Elma Therese Abadie Tassin, 95, died April 13, 2008. The native and resident of Lutcher is survived by son Jerry and daughter-in-law Daphne, granddaughter Claire, niece Majorie Abadie and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by husband Florian Tassin.

Visitation and services were held Wednesday, April 16, at St. Philip Catholic Church in Vacherie followed by entombment in the church mausoleum.

Waguespack

Irma Hickson Waguespack, 95, died April 13, 2008.  The Burnside native and Vacherie resident is survived by sons Stan J. III and Barry Waguespack, daughters-in-law Missy McCoy Waguespack and Jan Hill Waguespack, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Preceded in death by husband Stanislaus Jean “Stan” Waguespack Jr., son David Waguespack, daughter-in-law Judy Waguespack, parents, brother Arthur Edward Hickson and nephew Arthur Edward III.

Visitation and services were held Wednesday, April 16, at St. Philip Catholic Church in Vacherie followed by interment in the St. Philip Catholic Church Cemetery.
