Lucia

Eula Vedros Lucia, 93, died April 12, 2008. The resident of LaPlace and native of Lutcher, was a homemaker and a retired proofreader for The L’Observateur newspaper. She is survived by her children, Joseph Lucia Jr., Patricia L. Austin, and Ellis Lucia; brother, James Vedros; and special friend, Earline Bergeron. She was lovingly called “Mammy” by her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Lucia was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Lucia Sr.; her parents, Ellis and Laura Vedros; her brother, Percy Vedros; her sisters, Ione Bourgeois, Doris Bernard, Anna Lee Martin; and great-grandson Zachary Hoover. Visitation and funeral services were held Tuesday, April 15, at Rose Lynn Funeral Home. Burial was at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Paulina. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John Parish Animal Shelter, 124 Water Plant Rd., LaPlace, La. 70068.

Terrio

Alton J. Terrio 90, died April 12, 2008. The Reserve resident was the husband of Shirley Cassagne Terrio. Father of Lee and Barry Terrio. Grandfather of Melissa Simoneaux and Steven Terrio. Great-grandfather of Austin and Alexandra Terrio. Son of the late Richard and Aimee Terrio. Brother of Larry Terrio, Alice Triche and the late Alvin Terrio and Elma Falgoust. Terrio was an Air Force WWII Veteran 308 Fighter Squadron and retired from Shell Oil Refinery after 34 years of service. Visitation and religious funeral services were held Tuesday, April 15, at St. Peter Catholic Church, in Reserve. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
