Beam
Shelly Beam, 32, died March 26, 2008. The Destrehan resident was the daughter of Cindy Bellanger, stepdaughter of Irv Bellanger, stepsister of Chip and Shane Bellanger. Private services will be held at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Metairie.
Boe
Joseph “Jim” Boe, 80, died March 27, 2008. The Garyville native and Reserve resident was the husband of Thelma Schexnayder Boe, father of Lorraine Moody, grandfather of Corey and Andrew Moody, and great-grandfather of Corey Moody, Jr. Boe is also survived by three brothers, O’Nell, John, and Leonard Boe; and three sisters, Amella Laiche, Rita Bonadona, and Laura Hutchinson. Preceded in death by his sister, the late Hilda Crumpton. Visitation and funeral services were held Saturday, March 29 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve. He was buried in St. Peter Cemetery.
Chauvin
Maud Letulle Chauvin, 84, died March 28, 2008. The native of Central, long-time resident of Lutcher and resident of Prairieville for the past two years is survived by sons Elton (E.J.) Chauvin, Donald Paul Chauvin and Ricky Joseph Chauvin, daughter Beverly Many, brothers Emile Letulle and Robert Letulle and sisters Glory Schnexnayder, Merceded Simon, Elta Mae Simon, Grace Temple and Marjorie (Docky) Trosclair as well as nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by husband Wilbert Paul Chauvin, grandson Adam Chauvin, sister Delores Schnexnayder, brother Wilbert Letulle and parents Roberta and Ernest Letulle.
Visitation was held Monday, March 31, at Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher followed by services at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. Interment in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Clayton
Charles “Booster” Clayton, Jr., 101, died March 20, 2008. The former Paulina resident was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Battise Clayton; his parents, Charles Clayton, Sr., and Mary Clayton; a son, Joseph Breaud; and four brothers, Harry, Herman Sr., Jacob, and Esau Clayton. Clayton is survived by four daughters, Hillton Selby, Charlene Vedol, and Varanise Jenkins; two sons, Joshua Thomas, Jr., and Fred Duperclay; three brothers, Ernest Clayton, John Clayton, and James Clayton; and four sisters, Francis Sanders, Elsie Clayton, Bernice Clayton, and Julia Rankins. Visitation was held Friday, March 28, at Bardell’s Mortuary of Mt. Airy. Funeral service were held Saturday, March 29 at Greater Evergreen Baptist Church of Paulina, La. Interment in Antioch Cemetery in Paulina.
Cunningham
William Lawrence “Larry” Cunningham, 52, died March 27, 2008. Born in New Orleans and reared in Kenner, he was a resident fof Norco for the last 30 years. Survived by his beloved Sheila Rodrigue Cunningham, son William “Tony” Cunningham, daughter Lauren Cunningham, daughter-in-law Erin Opelka Cunningham, grandson Luke Cunningham, father William Cunningham, sisters Becky Cunningham Bates and Billie Ann Cunningham Gautreaux, brothers-in-law Philip Bates and Roy Gautreaux Jr. and grandmother Ella Cunningham.
Preceded in death by mother Marie Gruntz Cunningham.
Visitation and services were Tuesday, April 1, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan followed by interment in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery.
Duthu
Genevieve Marie Duthu, 85, died March 29, 2008. Survived by daughter Louise Commagere, stepdaughter Dolores Johnson, stepson Donald Duthu Jr., grandchildren Lori Jacob, Donna Notaro and Charles Commagere and great-grandchildren Steven Jacob, David Jacob, Monique Notaro and Angella Notaro.
Preceded in death by husbands Lloyd Frederic and Donald Duthu, parents Leonard Heltz and Thelezia Decareaux Heltz and stepdaughter Joyce Legarde.
Visitation and services were held Tuesday, April 1, at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel in Pensacola, Fla. A graveside sevice will take place at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Paulinaa on Thursday, April 3.
Jefferson
Lawrence Jefferson, 60, died March 25, 2008. The Luling resident was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Sarah Jefferson; and two brothers, Eddie, and Louis Jefferson. Jefferson is survived by a son, Wardell Jefferson; four sisters, Elsie Rosette, Kathy Hargrove, Sarah Turner, and Lucille Jefferson; and two brothers, Charlie Thomas, and Anthony Jefferson. Visitation and funeral services were held Saturday, March 29, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, with interment at New St. Matthew Cemetery in Matthew, La.
Joseph
Mazie Ann Kelson Joseph, 52, died March 25, 2008. Daughter of the late Lubella Henderson Kelson and Victor Perkins Sr., stepdaughter of Amos Johnson Sr., mother of Juanika, Katrina Bright, Gerald Adams and Lamarcus Kelson, sister of Leona Stafford, Gary, Freddie and Floyd Kelson, Kellet Kenard Jr., Joe Henderson and the late Barbara and Gerald Kelson.
Visitation and services were held Tuesday, April 1, New Zion Full Baptist Church in Gramercy followed by interment at Western Cemetery in Reserve.
