LAPLACE  – Kassidy Terrio is an outgoing, energetic eight-year-old.  In March 2006, shortly after her sixth birthday, she was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a cancer of the nerve tissues.   For the past two years, she has been receiving regular blood transfusions as part of her treatment.  With the help of family and friends, Kassidy has maintained a cheerful disposition throughout her treatment.

St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church at 529 West Fifth Street in LaPlace, will be holding a blood drive for Kassidy on Sunday, April 6th from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm.  Kassidy’s family is asking healthy individuals who are at least 17 years of age and 110 pounds to donate blood.  Donating blood is safe, simple and easy.  The entire process takes less than an hour, with the actual donation lasting approximately ten minutes.  Up to 60% of the population is eligible to donate blood, but only 5% actually do.
