Denise Remondet Lambert, 80, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008. The Reserve native is survived by son, Maurice Lambert Jr.; daughters, Betty Webre, Linda McCarty and Phillis Boyd; sister, Marie Landry; brothers, Sidney, Dennis, Ralph and Lee Roy Remondet. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by Husband, Maurice Lambert; parents, Edward and Anastasie Remondet; brothers, Edward Jr., Claude, Stanley and Charles Remondet; sister, Eva Idom.

Religious services were Friday, March 7, 2008 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve. Burial followed in church cemetery.

Carnaggio

Camille “Meal” Blaise Carnaggio, 57, died Monday, March 3, 2008. The Paulina resident is survived by wife, Trudy Braud Carnaggio; son, Eric P. Carnaggio; daughter, Lisa Carnaggio Brignac; sister, Vita Chenet. Also survived by three grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, Camille S. Carnaggio and Mary Peniclaro Carnaggio; brother, Frank Carnaggio; sister, Caroline Carnaggio St. Pierre.

Mass of Christian Burial was Thursday, March 6, 2008 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Convent. Entombment followed in the church mausoleum.

Joseph

Oleander Mitchell Joseph, 80, died Monday, March 3, 2008. The Edgard native is survived by sister, Christina Pierre and Willie Mitchell.

Preceded in death by husband, Edward Joseph; parents, Sidney and Josephine Borne Mitchell; brothers, Herman, Simon, Ramos, Paul and Phillip Mitchell; sisters, Emily Augusta and Marie Edwards.

Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, March 7, 2008 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgard. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Martinez

George B. Martinez, 77, died Monday, March 3, 2008. The Destrehan resident is survived by sons, Jorge and Javier and Martinez; daughters, Esperanza Martinez and Beatriz Martinez Smith. Also survived by nine grandchildren.

Preceded in death by husband, Esperanza L. Martinez; brothers, Nardo and Ramon Martinez, Jr.; parents, Maria Sosa and Ramon Martinez Abuel.

Funeral Mass was Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel in Metairie. Interment followed in St. Patrick Cemetery #1. Donations may be made to The American Heart Association, 105 Campus Dr. East, P.O. Box 159 Destrehan, LA 70047.

Mayfield

Marie Mayfield, 87, died Saturday, March 1, 2008. The Reserve native is survived by sisters, Alma Cook, Margaret Nelson and Rose Jordan; brothers, Edward, Joseph and Raymond LaGrande.

Preceded in death by husband, William Mayfield; parents, Elwa and Frncis LaGrande.

Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, March 7, 2008 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Reserve. Interment followed in St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.

Messina

Lawrence J. Messina, 71, died Sunday, March 2, 2008. The St. Rose native and LaPlace resident is survived by sister, Marie DiGiovanni.

Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Josephine Messina.

Services were Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home in LaPlace.

Turnage

Michael E. Turnage, 57, died Sunday, March 2, 2008. The LaPlace resident is survived by father, W.E. Turnage; daughter, Dacharie Luke; stepson, Micahel Willis; stepdaughter, Shannon Neal; brothers, Brian and Kenneth Turnage; sister, Tami Conforto. Also survived by two grandchildren.

Preceded in death by wife, Mary Audler Turnage; mother, Audrey Turnage; sister, Susan Laurent.

Religious services were Friday, March 7, 2008 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home in LaPlace. Burial was to be private, at a later date.

Washington

Barry Joseph “Popeye” Washington, 50, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008. The Paulina resident is survived by mother, Annie Keller Washington; daughter, Taquila DuHone; sisters, Betty Clayton, Marlene Pittman, Lorraine, Linda and Stacy Washington; brothers, Barvick and Larry Washington. Also survived by two grandchildren.

Preceded in death by father, Joseph Washington; sisters, Debra Antoinette, Julianna Washington and LeAnn Fluence.

Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, March 1, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Paulina.

Interment followed in Church Cemetery.
