Lynne Acosta, mother of second grade teacher Joel Baer at John L. Ory School, was one of many volunteers who came to read to students in the annual NEA “Read Across America” project on Friday in St. John Parish. The day was commemorated as the anniversary of Dr. Seuss and his many children’s books, with local volunteers coming to many schools in the area to read Dr. Seuss books. Along with Acosta is Amaya Dabon (left) and Sela Pierce, while the entire third grade class of Michelle Mondello show off some of their favorite books.
