RESERVE – St. John authorities are on the lookout for a cross dressing crook who allegedly robbed a Reserve convenience store Monday.

Maj. Mike Tregre, spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office said a white male wearing a green dress with blue jeans rolled up underneath, and a hood over his head, forced entry into Holmes Food Mart, located at 1524 LA 44, around 11 p.m. Tregre said the suspect busted through the front door glass with an unknown object to get inside.

According to a Sheriff’s Office report, the suspect, armed with a hammer, came around the counter and demanded the cashier working the night window to open the register. The employee, a 19-year old LaPlace female whose name was not released, complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the frocked offender. The suspect, whose face was covered with an unknown white material, then fled the store in an unknown direction on foot.

Tregre said anyone with information regarding the robbery should call the SJSO at 985-652-6338. Detective Tommy Young is the case officer.
