Ockman

Leo Ockman, 56, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008. The Reserve native and LaPlace resident is survived by daughters, Tammy Ockman Rodrigue and Jessica Ockman; siblings, Leroy, Michael and Danny Duhe, Terry and Coye Howell, Karen, Betty and Anna Duhe. Also survived by two grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, Luse and Lydie Ockamn.

Religious services were Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008 at Ascension of Our Lord Church in LaPlace. Burial followed in St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.

Savoie

Mary Roussel Savoie, 90, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008. The LaPlace resident is survived by sons, Lester and Nolan Savoie; daughter, Deborah Bourgeois. Also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by husband, Nolan Savoie.

Reliogious services were Monday, Feb. 18, 2008 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.

Walton

George “Pop” Edward Walton, 83, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008. The Norco resident is survived by daughter, Melinda W. Anderson; brother, Ronald Messa, Sr. Also survived by five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by wife, Eugenie Ponamsky Walton; parents, George E. Walton, Sr. and Henrietta Gehbauer Messa; sister, Inez Benoit.

Visitation was Friday, Feb. 15, 2008 at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. Entombment followed in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum in Destrehan.

Wescovich

Donna Martin Wescovich, 63, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008. The Lutcher native is survived by husband, Leroy Wecovich; step-son, Steven Wescovich; step-daughter, Missy Wescovich Sinks; mother, Onita L. Martin; brothers, Gayle, Billy and Jerry Martin; sisters, Cheryl Brignac and Robin Bentivegna. Also survived by two step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by father, Murphy J. Martin; sister, Patricia M. Deroche.

Mass of Christian Burial wzs Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. Interment followed in church cemetery.

Wilcox

Rusty Wilcox, 46, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008. The LaPlace and Reserve resident is survived by wife, Margaret Wilcox; children, James, Jimmy, Paul, Kristy, Lesley, Rebecca and Gregory. Also survived by nine grandchildren.

Religious service was Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home Chapel in LaPlace. Burial followed in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery in LaPlace.

Young

Mildred Maurin Young, 84, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008. The Reserve native is survived by husband, Harold “Hap” Young; daughter, Kathleen Clifton; son, James Young; brothers, McHugh, Harold and Dicky Maurin; sisters, Marion Coffee, Sarah Duhe and Susan Maurin. Also survived by four grandchildren.

Preceded in death by sisters, Connie Shaver and Elsie Lasseigne; brother, F.H. Maurin III.

Funeral service was Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home in Metairie. A private interment followed.
