Bell

Elaine Poche’ Bell, 65, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008. The Paulina native is survived by husband, Carl “Tuttie” Bell; sons, Carl Jr., Ryan, Kerry, John and Keith Bell; daughters, Valerie Sexton, Lynn Triche, Tammy Gendron, Pam Gilreth, Vonda Hannaman and Sherry Luquette; sister, Myrtis Trosclair. Also survived by 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, Anne Laiche and Rene’ “Frere” Poche’; sister, Ruth Louque; brothers, A.J., Garland, Pete “Peg Leg” and Dalton Poche’.

Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, Feb. 8, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association (800)242-8721 or the American Diabetes Foundation (800)342-2383.

Champagne

Destiny Champagne, 4, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008.

The Reserve native is survived by father, Tim Tregre, Jr.; mother, Melissa Champagne; step-father, Jason Triche; step-mother, Jennifer Pisciotti; brother, Logan Tregre; maternal grandparents, Terry and Mary Ann Champagne; paternal grandparents, Tim and Darnell Tregre; step-grandparents, Sidney and Nida Triche; great-grandparents, Dorothy Champagne, Rose and Peter Tregre and Dorothy and Ignazio Ferraro.

Preceded in death by brother, Nicholas Champagne; grandmother, Colette Tregre.

Religious Services were Monday, Feb. 11, 2008 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to the family for burial expenses.

Gillman

Thelma Barre Gillman, 94, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008.

The LaPlace resident is survived by brother, Klebert Barre. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews.

Preceded in death by husband, Ray Gillman; parents, Klebert Barre and Martha Rodrigue Barre; siblings, James Barre and Laurence Vicknair.

Religious Services were Monday, Feb. 11, 2008 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve, LA.

Tanguis

Louis C. “Jesse” Tanguis, Jr., 86, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 at 11:35 AM. The LaPlace resident is survived by daughters, Derra Ferguson and Lana Galino; grandson, Brandon Boudreaux; great-grand daughter, Madison Boudreaux.

Preceded in death by wife, Anna Mae K. Tanguis; parents, Louis and Eugenia Dupepe Tanguis; sisters, Amelie Vessier and Marjorie Tanguis.

Religious Services were Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.

Perret

Sybyl “Lady” Klibert Perret, 91, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008. The Gramercy resident is survived by daughters, Gwen Delaneuville and Sybil Simon; sister, Beryl Considine. Also survived by seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Preceded in death by husband, Henry Perret; and by first husband, Hewitt (Ape) Klibert; sisters, Mildred Villmont, Lillian Bayer and Wanda Bullard; brothers, Harold and Pappy Joffrion.

Religious Services were Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve. Burial in church.

McPhail

James Brent McPhail, 52, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2008. The former LaPlace resident is survived by wife, Debbie; daughters, Chelsea and Lacey; sons, Joshua and Tim; stepdaughter, Kaylee; brother, Kent.Services were Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 at Trinity Church in Lubbock, TX. Burial followed in Abernathy Cemetery in Lubbock.
