LaPlace Elementary first graders Cameron Cage and Taniyah Gross were named the school’s Mardi Gras king and queen this past week as part of the school’s holiday activities. Students who had received recognition for positive behavior over the past three or four months were included in random drawing for the honor. As the school’s king and queen, Cage and Gross will participate in the school parade next week, and wave and toss tokens and gifts to their classmates.
