Riverside concluded its season on Wednesday, falling to district foe E.D. White, 10-2.

Jesse LeBlanc scored both goals for Riverside.

By virtue of the win, the Cardinals (9-6-4, 4-1) set up a potential district clinching game against St. Charles on Friday, which was later rescheduled to Sunday due to weather.

But St. Charles won the game, and the teams were declared co-champions of the district.

Riverside Coach Daniel Waguespack said that while his team isn’t yet ready to compete with the likes of those district championship contenders, he feels encouraged by the progress his young players made this season.

“E.D. White has a real strong team,” said Waguespack. “They’ve been together for awhile. Our team should only get better, and when some of these real young players become seniors, we could be at that level.”
