Brighter Airline part of Hubbard’s plan

LAPLACE – The Hubbard administration has announced the administration’s first lighting project. The project will be to light the section of Airline Highway from Walnut Street to Riverforest Subdivision, Public Information Officer Buddy Boe said. The project will be similar to the lighting improvements done to the previous section of Airline Highway from Old 51 to the current stopping point. Entergy will be pay for the installation of the new lighting.
“This project has many benefits to the community: beautification, economic development, and public safety.” Hubbard said, “I promised the voters of St. John that we would begin immediately addressing the image of our community and I feel that this is a great starting point.”
With the influx of traffic on Airline Highway in the evening, this improvement to the lighting situation along that stretch of roadway will also help the traffic situation and hopefully reduce the number of acci-
