Fiffie

Irving Andrew Fiffie, Jr., 77, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008. The Edgard native is survived by daughters, Mary F. Washington and Yvonne Keller; sons, Daniel and Lionel Fiffie; brothers, Roland Sr. and Alvin Fiffie; sisters, Ruby Byrd, Ella Franklin, Francis Bovie, Susie Joseph and Audrey Martin. Also survived by six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, Lorenza and Irving Fiffie, Sr.; brother, Clifton Fiffie; sisters, Ruth Bovie, Charlotte Davis and Eva Fiffie.

Mass of Christian Burial was Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgard. Interment followed in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Edgard.

Guidry

Paul L. Guidry, 80, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008. The Reserve native is survived by wife, Myrtis Guidry; children, Catherine, Paul, Michael, Timothy, Cecilia, Jacques and Peter; siblings, Inez, Marion, James, Julian, Albert, Francis, John and Theresa.

Preceded in death by siblings, Celeste, Edwin and Leon.

Religious services were Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve. Burial followed in St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

Jackson

Elsie Jackson, 81, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008. The Lutcher native is survived by daughters, Robin Rayfield, Cludia Manuel, Gaynell Albert, Renita Graber, Rhonda Jackson, Versie Jackson and Kim Carter; sisters, Audrey Kirklin and Ruby Mitchell; brother, Eli Jackson. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, Eli and Victoria Jackson; brothers, Clarence and Joseph Jackson; sisters, Vivian Williams and Theresa Manuel.

Funeral services were Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 at the King David B.C. in Lutcher. Interment followed in St. Joseph Cemetery in Paulina.

Lewis

Casey “Winky” Lewis Jr., 67, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008. The Edgard resident is survived by wife, Marion F. Lewis; sons, Conrad, Shawn, Robin and Jason Lewis; daughter, Brandie Williams; brother, Haston Sr., Henry and Marlis Lewis; sister, Marion Wyre. Also survived by 16 grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, Cosey Sr. and Marina Lewis.

Funeral services were Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 at the 2nd African B.C. in Edgard. Interment followed in Young Cemetery, Edgard.

Normand

Raphael “Rae” Desmond Normand, 45, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, the date of his birth. The LaPlace native is survived by sisters, Diane Normand, Esther Hayden, Lisa Normand Valle’ Vick, Adrienne Labat and Renee’ Keeley; brother, Dale Normand. Also survived by seven nieces and seven nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, Louis and Betty Normand; brothers, Lawrence, Victor and Robin Normand; sister, Eugenie Normand.

A memorial mass will be said for Rae Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008 at St. Joan of Arc Church in LaPlace.

Rae’s request to have his remains cremated and ashes scattered on and around the Virgin Islands will be honored by his family and his love on the island, Gladys Mena.

Roussel

Leo J. Rouseel, Sr., 68, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008. The Paulina native and Garyville resident is survived by wife, Dianne G. Roussel; sons, Blain and Leo Roussel, Jr.; daughters, Lynell Heikamp and Tiffany Vicknair; sisters, Gladys LeBlanc and Gloria Babin. Also survived by six grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, Romeo and Lucress Roussel; brothers, Herbert, Raymond and Roland Roussel.

Religious services were Friday, Jan. 18, 2008 at St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.
