Elsie Mae Borne, 64, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007. The Boutte resident is survived by husband, Wallace Borne, Sr.; daughters, Tanya Melancon and Wendy Bridges; son, Wallace Borne, Jr.; brother, Collin Randall, Sr. Also survived by six grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, Victoria Woods and Collin Eddie Randall.

Funeral service was Thursday, Jan. 3, 2007 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, LA. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Ebanks

Davis C. Ebanks Sr. died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007. The LaPlace resident is survived by wife Patricia Ebanks; son, Davis Ebanks Jr.; daughters, Avis St. Pierre, Tisa Johnson and Rise Delaneuville; stepdaughter, Debra Berns; stepson, Stephen Davis; brother of, Martin Ebanks, Mac Henning and Goldie Ebanks. Also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by first wife, Martha Jacon Ebanks; sons, Roland and Dwight Williams.

Memorial gathering was held Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008 at St. John the Baptist Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607-1460.

Madere

Michael George Madere, Sr., 65, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007. The Destrehan resident is survived by wife, Judy R. Madere; daughters, Michelle M. Weaver and Jessica A. Slane; sons, Michael G., Bryan A., William J. and Charles J. Madere; sister, Karen Dieciedue; brother, Robert J. Madere. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by parents, Irving “Blackie” Madere and Rosemary Vicknair Madere.

Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial were Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 at St. Charles Borrromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Maurin

Marion Maurin, 89, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007. The LaPlace resident is survived by sister, Juliette Maquar.

He was preceded in death by wife, Yvonne Labiche Maurin; son, Marion Maurin, Jr.; parents, Henry and Juliette Ory Maurin; brothers, Henry Maurin, Jr. and Daniel Maurin; sister, Cecile Cambre.

Religious services were at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008. Burial followed in St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve, LA. In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred.

Taylor

Mable “Ma Mae, Granny” Cambre Taylor, 88, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007. The Garyville native is survived by daughters, Elnora Freeman, Dora Belvin, Irene Taylor, Joyce Gautreaux and Audrey Snyder; sister, Ceola Taylor. Also survived by three generation of grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, Christopher and Fedora Cambre; husband, Daniel Taylor; devoted friend, Herman Duroncelay; sons, Jerome and Kelly Taylor; daughter, Josephine Fobb; sisters, Edith Winfield and Matilda Smith; brother, Edgar Cambre, Sr.

Visitation and Victory of Celebration was Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008 at True Light B.C. Interment followed in Zion Travelers Cemetery, Reserve, LA.
