East St. John’s Lady Wildcats endured a loss for the first time this season on Monday, falling 12-0 at Terrebonne.
Terrebonne scored six goals in the first half and six in the second half on its way to victory.
“(Terrebonne) is just a very good team,” said East St. John Coach Jason Beber. “Physically, we couldn’t keep up with them. They’ve got a great deal of skill and talent.”
East St. John (4-1) and Terrebonne (2-2) were locked in a scoreless tie for the first 20 minutes of play before the Tigers ran out to a big lead.
The Wildcats had no answer for a team that proved it could score from almost anywhere on the field.
“They were putting up shots from 30 yards out,” said Beber. “I can’t say enough about that program they have.”
The loss put an end to a four game winning streak that the Wildcats had to begin the year. A major part of that has been the play of junior Tia Casadaban, who has scored eight times this season.
“She’s been a great team leader for us,” said Beber. “She’s been awesome for us. She’s always working hard, not just on her own game, but in helping the other players coaching-wise.”.
