On November 14, Reserve Christian senior point guard Eddren McCain officially signed with Bradley University on scholarship.

McCain is currently attempting to lead the Eagles to their third straight state championship, his second as a starter with the team. He was the Most Valuable Player of the 2007 Class C championship game, as RCS defeated Athens by two, 61-59.

McCain was named All-State as a junior after averaging 22 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.

RCS Coach Timmy Byrd sees McCain as a player who can have an immediate impact for the Braves next season.

“He’s a leader, someone who has the ability to step in as a freshman and, if not start, get major minutes. To me he’s a high Division I point guard with the ability to score and also make those around him better.”

Byrd also said that he thinks McCain will fit Bradley’s up-tempo system like a glove.

“He’s really suited for their offense,” said Byrd. “They play somewhat like the Phoenix Suns. They’ve been in the Sweet 16 twice in the past five years, so he’s going to a program that has had success.”

RCS is currently 14-4. Bradley is 6-2 early on in the NCAA season.
