“Nuncrackers” brings holiday laughs

LUTCHER – Performance dates for St. James Community Theater’s production of the Nunsense Christmas Musical “Nuncrackers” have been set for December 14, 15 and 16 at Chanel School Cafetorium in Paulina. Friday and Saturday’s performances will be at 7:00 PM, with the Sunday matinee at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under, and are available at Roussel’s Gifts and Antiques in Gramercy. Tickets can also be purchased from any cast member or at the door.
The cast of “Nuncrackers” includes Irene Poche as Reverend Mother, Tammi Marshall as Sister Mary Hubert, Greer Millet as Sister Robert Anne, Kathy Tuson as Sister Mary Paul (Amnesia) and Bob Boudreaux as Father Virgil Manly Trott. Appearing as the students of Mount Saint Helen’s School are Derrick Faucheux, Gracie Millet, Ruston Poche and Janelle Manuel . ”Nuncrackers is under the direction of Julie Boudreaux.
Nuncrackers takes place in real time in the basement of Mount Saint Helen’s Convent. It centers on the taping of the Convent’s first Christmas TV Special being filmed in the Cable Access TV Studio built by Reverend Mother with part of the prize money won earlier by one of the sisters.
“Nuncrackers” is a fun-for-the-whole-family holiday musical that strengthens one’s belief that everything turns out okay in the end. The show is filled with typical Nunsense humor, some of your favorite carols, and a “Secret Santa” activity.
