Shaw scored 17 runs in the first three innings of play and defeated St. Charles-based Townsend Homes, 17-0, by the ten run rule after five innings.
Shaw scored nine runs in the first, one in the second and seven in the third to seize control of the game.
“We just didn’t show up to play,” Townsend Homes Coach Paul Waguespack said. “I don’t have much else to say about it than that. We got whipped.”
Donovan Duffy took the loss for Townsend Homes.
Townsend Homes will attempt to get back on track today in a Second District contest at Belle Chasse-based Pivach Insurance. This upcoming week, a three game home stand awaits as Townsend hosts Valero-St. Charles (Destrehan), Otto Candies, L.L.C. (Hahnville), and Bell Office Machines (East Jefferson). The homestand will be crucial for playoff positioning.
