DESTREHAN -The Louisiana State Police released the identity of the man involved in a fatal accident between two vehicles in Destrehan last Friday following notification to family members.

Gregory Perilloux, 53, of Reserve, met his end when he allegedly recklessly drove a stolen 2006 Nissan Sentra into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a 2007 Toyota Corolla driven by Lynn Taravella, 58, of Destrehan.

Taravella suffered serious injuries and Perilloux was pronounced dead at the scene.

Louisiana State Police will perform a toxicology examination on Perilloux to determine if he was impaired at the time of the crash, and said he was speeding and neglected to wear his seat belt.
