Belle Terre Coach Kellie Forster said before the season that her young team, filled with first time swimmers, might experience some growing pains this season.
That manifested itself on Thursday, where Belle Terre lost its opener at home to Hill Heights, 372-158.
Still, Forster sees much to like with the improvements that her team has made.
“We definately saw a lot of progress,” Forster said. “We had a number of kids missing due to other summer activities, but the ones who were here came through for us.”
Gage Alleman had a big night, taking first place in the freestyle, breastroke and butterfly competitions.
Tyler Songy also took three first place finishes, in the freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke.
“Tyler Songy did an awesome job for us,” Forster said. “A lot of our new and younger swimmers cut their times, which is what we are looking for.
