LAPLACE – A Reserve man suspected of committing a string of automobile burglaries in St. John Parish was apprehended Tuesday, after he was allegedly found with his pockets full of stolen items.

Kenneth Dixon, 27, was booked at the St. John Correctional Center with a $35,000 bond for illegal possession of stolen property, possession of stolen property and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and authorities are investigating his connection to the recent swell of vehicle burglaries.

Kenneth Dixon, 27, of 115 Millet St. in Reserve reportedly raised an officer’s suspicion when he tried to hide between two houses on the 600 block of Fairway Dr. while riding his bike at 1:35 a.m. Tuesday, before he unloaded his possessions under a car.

The deputy approached Dixon and found a stolen wallet, Sony digital camera and a large amount of loose change during a pat down, then looked under the car and discovered a Ruger 40 caliber handgun in a holster with two loaded magazines and a black case housing a DVD.

The officer called the owner of the wallet, who lived on the 1600 block of Marsielle Drive, and verified that he owned the wallet and handgun before he arrested Dixon.
