St. James girls basketball squad will face district 10-2A runners-up Donaldsonville, in the regional round of play after Brandi Jefferey helped keep her team alive, scoring 37 in their playoff opener at St. Martin’s last Thursday.

The Lady Wildcats were in control throughout for this one, outscoring the Lady Spartans in every quarter but the last one. That fourth quarter was tense though, as St. James saw their seven point lead dwindle down to just one possession late in the period. But even as they were outscored 14-9 in the final eight minutes, St. James held on for the 56-54 win.

Brianne Gros joined Jefferey in double figures for the Lady Wildcats with ten.

St. James is scheduled next see Donaldsonville for the regional round in an away game.
