RESERVE – Riverside softball opened their ‘07 season schedule with an 8-2 win over Ponchatoula where Brittany St. Pierre recorded four RBIs and Bridget Petit and Marci Millet combined for four hits.

It was a five run inning that put Riverside on top in this one, extending a 3-1 lead to 8-1 in the fifth. The Lady Rebels added insurance with another run in the top of the seventh while pitcher Nicole Poirrier went the distance for the win while giving up just two hits.

Then on Thursday, the Lady Rebels were back on their home field for a game against Dutchtown where the Lady Rebels recorded 11 hits, to Dutchtown’s 2, but were able to score only two base-runners in a 3-2 loss.

That puts the Lady Rebels at 1-1 in their first week of play. They have a home double-header scheduled for this weekend with Lutcher’s Lady Bulldogs at 10 a.m.
