RESERVE – Cedric Jenkins led a host of Eagles in double digits for Reserve Christian’s fourth district win through four games last Tuesday, with 40 of the 121 points scored by RCS for a 49 point win over Grand Isle.
It was the second meeting of these two teams for district 10-C play, with the first one also going heavily in favor of the Eagles by more than 40 points.
But both squads managed to score in bunches for this one, as Grand Isle had two players over 20 points in the game. It was Reserve Christian though that held a comfortable lead throughout, going up 24-12 through the first quarter of play and dropping 37 points on the Trojans in the second period to extend their advantage to 29 points by halftime.
Not much changed after the break as the Eagles came right back out and continued to produce, and rode an 89-47 lead into the final quarter. The Trojans added 25 to their score in the final eight minutes to finish the game up with a 121-72 final.
Jenkins was joined in the productive offensive stats by Eddren McCain, who netted his usual 23 points. Demond Peters and Kyle McClue scored 18 and 16 respectively while Justin Bernard got 13.
The Eagles are in command of their district, and can clinch first place in 10-C with a win over Pheonix next week in an away game. The last outing between Reserve Christian and Pheonix was the Eagle’s homecoming game, which they won back in mid-December.
