Batson

Aubrey Merrell Batson, 80 of Houma and a native of Earle, Arkansas, He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.

He is survived by a daughter Peggy Falla and her husband Joe and by son John Batson and his girlfriend Karen Peters.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Syliva Mercedes Batson and also by son Aubrey M Batson Jr., William &#8220Billy” Batson, Sue Tesch, Anita Gaubert and Mary Massengale.

Visitation was at Alexander Funeral Home in Norco on Tuesday, Jan. 16 followed by a private graveside service.

Perret

Alvin &#8220Babe” M. Perret, 80, of Edgard, on Friday, January 12, 2007. Perret was the owner/operator pf Club Grocery and a member of the St. John Parish School Board for 32 years. He was president from 1981-1987. He was an Army veteran and a founding member of the West St. John Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Fernandez Perret, three children, Alvin M. Perret, Susan Perret Selig and Geri Dawn Perret.

He is also survived by brothers Lionel, Louis D. III, Marion Perret, two sisters, Marjorie Amedee and Elaine Becnel, and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Abigail Perret, parents Louis DAvney Perret and mother Daria Darensbourg Perret and brother Roger J. Perret Sr.

Services were held Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007 from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgard from 5-9 p.m and continued on Monday, Jan. 15, 2007 at 9 a.m. with mass at 11 a.m.
