Auditions for St. John Theatre play scheduled Monday and Tuesday

LAPLACE — St. John Theatre is holding auditions for their production of, &#8220A Year with Frog and Toad,” scheduled for March 2, 3, 9 and 10.

Auditions are scheduled Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 18 and 19, at 7 p.m.

Director Darryl Clement is looking for singer/actors of high-school-age and above. Auditioners will be asked to read and sing; no advance preparation is necessary.

&#8220A Year with Frog and Toad,” is based on the Newberry and Caldecott Honor books about Frog and Toad by Arnold Lobel. With book, lyrics and music by brothers, Willie and Robert Reale, the charming Frog and &#8220worry-wart” Toad, along with Snail, Mouse and the rest of the animal gang, leap off Lobel’s pages.

Each amphibian anecdote comes to life with hilarious and heart-warming songs to explore the challenges, rewards and tenderness of friendship.

&#8220A Year with Frog and Toad” celebrates that having a very best friend is about as good as life gets.
